In this Introductory Product Design Studio, we were tasked with designing a high fidelity lamp prototype over the course of 8 weeks. I investigated basic lighting design precedents to determine needs that current lighting design lacks.

Cubic Reflectance is a Table Lamp that addresses the need for modular lamp design in User Centered Design. The final prototype is composed of a sturdy wooden cube form which rotates over a juxtaposing spherical bulb in order to diffuse light in different directions.

As a table lamp, the shade can be tilted to project light into a space or against a wall as diffused light.

​

As a desk lamp, the shade helps to project light onto a direct surface.
