In this Introductory Architecture Studio, we were tasked with designing a community building for the University of Colorado Boulder Arts & Design Quad over the course of an 8 week studio. I investigated the connection between public and priavte spaces.

The design process included several considerations such as creating a more cohesive route of circulation within the Quad and defining a hierarchy of space on the site, and determining the new building as a focal point with direct sightlines to the surrounding area. Through iterative sketching, I created my first architectural rendering as an Architecture major.
A new hierarchy via circulation
The overall design catalysts the main gathering space for student within the Quad, highlighting the University's emphasis on its performing arts, academia, community and creativity with additional spacious indoor-outdoor amphitheater space and other adequate programming in the Quad. In turn, a creative hierarchy is established by way of user wayfinding.
